I can't comment on Cougar, but WHS is a valid strategy for backing up critical workstations in an SBS environment *today*. need access to the WHS anyway, as it's real purpose in this scenario is computer backup. Hi, I have this experience too. The xp can see some 98 machines but cant access their shares. While some 98 machines can access my XP , others cannot. I've found that Win9x and possibly WinME like to go to WORKGROUP, while XP goes to MSHOME. Trish, Are you saying you can see one in the My Network Places of the other, but can't open any shares? Or can you not see it in MNP at all? Look at "Access this computer from the network", and make sure that Everyone is in this list. Do any of the computers have a software firewall (ICF / WF, or third party)?
